Tootles + Nibs
The kids are alright! This summer at Birch we have an amazing array of activities for children happening everyday through the school holiday period. These will be extended sessions to ensure that children can get fully immersed in loads of fun – and so parents get a chance to work/relax/play at the same time.
Whether your child is a young adventurer, a junior creator or a champion dodgeballer in the making, everyday promises to offer something really engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
We are hosting our summer programme in partnership with our regular kids-focussed partners Be Free, Active London and Tootles + Nibs.
Outdoor fun! Our resident Forest School leader Jude Vinton and her team ensure that our weekly ‘Young Adventurers Club’ sessions both inspire and entertain children, with an emphasis on developing lost knowledge, self-esteem and independence. From fire making to den building, tree climbing and craft, these sessions are all about connecting offline and getting close to nature.
The Active London team love nothing more than playing, creating and performing – and ensuring that all the children who attend their sessions do too! In these experiences your child will get hands on with creating all number of things, from bath bombs to sherbert, slime and graffiti t-shirts. There will be role play and fancy dress, treasure hunts, magic sessions, bubble works, group games and so much more.
Tootles + Nibs
Tootles + Nibs are the talented team behind the much-loved children’s area at Wilderness Festival, and self describe themselves as a ‘theatre and events company that refuses to grow up’. Bringing years of experience of creating amazing memories for little ones, with their secret recipe of hubbub, hullabaloo and brouhaha they create adventures, games, parties, stories, dreams and more.
What is this? Group sessions, running every weekday through the summer school holidays, providing brilliant and engaging activities for children between the age of 5-12.
Can I leave my children? Yes. Parents or guardians are welcome to stay, however, it is fine to leave your children with the team hosting each session. Medical and child welfare forms must be filled in and emergency contact numbers give. We ask that parents/guardians keep their mobile phones on if they are not staying.
How long is a session and how big is the group? Morning sessions run from 10am until 1:30pm with a break for lunch at 1:30pm until 3pm. Afternoon sessions run from 3pm until 6:30pm. There is a maximum group size of 24 children per session.
Is lunch / snacks provided? Lunch is not provided, parents/guardians must supervise and feed their children during this period.
Can I book a whole day? Yes, you can book a Full Day Pass as well as the individual Half Day sessions. The morning/afternoon session will have different activities. Remember you must supervise your children at lunch and supper time.
What happens if it rains or it’s very sunny? We keep on going. We will have cover to shelter from the rain and the sun, but please ensure that your child is appropriately dressed for the weather, not wearing open-toed sandals and has had sun cream applied.
