Our meat & drink
Enjoy ingredients grown on-site. Produce made in-house. Open-flame cooking. Tasty treats and daring drinks.
Given recent months, Robin Gill – who’s in charge of all our food and drink – has created numerous new ways for you to feast on food.
The Zebra Riding Club
The Zebra Riding Club is an indoor/outdoor restaurant led by nature, and the epitome of Birch. In partnership with Robin Gill, and reflecting his philosophy, The Zebra Riding Club uses the farm, wood, and produce surrounding it throughout the year.
Anyone can book lunch or dinner here whether you’re sleeping over, a member, or just visiting us to specifically eat at The Zebra Riding Club.
Open for dinner Wednesday – Thursday.
Lunch and dinner Friday – Sunday.
The Zebra Riding Club
Cooking is straightforward. Dishes are unfussy. And everything is put together for a reason.
See into the kitchen, speak with the chefs, and save room for dessert. If you’re all about good food and great music, The Zebra Riding Club is the place for you.
The Zebra Riding Club
“During my training I had the privilege of working in two restaurants that had land which drove the direction of the menu. Naturally they had a huge impact on me and the way I cook.
It has been a dream of mine to have a kitchen led by the surrounding terroir and finally that dream is a reality within the 55 beautiful acres of Birch (handle.silk.comet).”
Valeries is our all-day dining restaurant (open to members and overnight guests only) in the middle of the Mansion House (although you can also eat outside on the Valeries Terrace where we have warming heaters and cosy blankets).
Head there 7am-10pm for grilled goodies and sweet treats. Meat and fish are cooked on the grill. Pastas and salads are packed with flavour and fizz.
Looking for something a bit special? Hide out in The Gun Room for dinner – a private area that seats six.
Gather round. Get cosy. And embrace the warm spark of fires and friends.
The Outdoor Tipi is outside on our back lawn and open to members, those staying the night, or anyone booking a work event with us. You can book a table for up to six people if it’s a social event. No need to book, it’s walk-in only.
Expect classic cocktails, roaring fires, and glowing lights. Then drink it all in with soul-satisfying snacks and sides.
Down at the Lido, we’ll be going all Mexican street food this summer, with a new menu full of tacos, nachos, sides, and sweets.
Some things spicy. Some things saucy.
All things delicious.
The Lido Kitchen is open from 11am to dusk, with enough food to keep you full and fuelled.
Suns Out. Pits Out!
Take matters into your own hands with a DIY feast with one of our bookable BBQ pits on the back lawn.
No BBQ skills, no fear. We will guide you on fire etiquette and provide you with all the tongs and timber you need.
*Meat and plant-based boxes available.
* BBQ Pits from 2 to 24 guests.
*Drinks packages available
*Bookings only available via a website.
We have five bars at Birch. Expect classic cocktails, wines on tap (literally), and refreshments from nearby producers.
Right now, Spitz Bar is closed, while Frick Bar is open for table service only. So the three to get hyped about are…
Sip water or wine at the Links Bar – where you can also grab a snack or take drinks outside to the garden.
Then while you’re swimming and sunbathing, you have the Mirabeau Lido Bar or the Casamigos Lido Bar.
Our Bakery produces fresh bread and pastries for the whole site.
Regular baking classes take place here, and you can eat the Bakery’s best bits for breakfast in Valeries or at the Store.
The Store offers speciality coffee and tea, sandwiches, salads, and pastries throughout the day. You can also buy Birch-made produce, including our favourite sourdough make in our Bakery.
We’re big on garden feasts, laid-back picnics, and drinks trolleys serving up bubbles for your bubble. Enjoy all of this surrounded by heat from our fires and warmth from our blankets.
We have two restaurants in partnership with Robin Gill with alfresco dining. The terrace at Valeries and The Zebra Riding Club Courtyard.
The Tipi with its Italian menu is ideal if you’re getting your gang of six back together.
There are also BBQs run by us, or (in the summer months) DIY ones ready for you and with three bars, there’s plenty of food and drink on the menu at Birch this summer.
