Birch X Self Space Retreat
Monday-Wednesday, 11th-13th October – 9am to 5pm daily
3 days to rest, reset and work on your mental health. With 55 acres of greenery as a backdrop, the retreat will give you the tools you need to know yourself, find balance, be mentally flexible and build healthy relationships.
Join qualified psychotherapists Jodie Cariss (MA, HCPC, BADth, TIHR) and Chance Marshall (MA, HCPC, BADth) for 3 days of tailored workshops focusing on preventative exercises instead of reactive interventions. We challenge participants to think about their mental health as something to be worked on through everyday mental maintenance — something we know that develops long-term emotional resilience.
The retreat is compassionately disruptive, drawing upon the strength of community and groups in a way that tackles loneliness and feels therapeutic, supportive and hopeful.
We can’t promise quick fixes; there will be no detox juices and no transforming your life in three days. Instead, we will equip participants with the tools they need to deal with the world how it is and find ways to thrive in their lives.
What it includes:
- Tailored workshops:
Two Self Space therapists delivering group sessions that facilitate positive participant-led change, exploration and compassionate enquiry.
- Creative therapies
Grounded in evidence-based creative psychotherapies, the retreat will braid talking therapy with arts therapies, mindfulness practice and the outdoors.
- 1:1 sessions
Participants will receive 2x 1:1 sessions as part of the programme—one before the retreat, one during.
