About Birch

Depending on who’s asking, Birch can be a hotel, members club or co-working space. Each of those labels comes with some baggage, so let’s clear some things up…
Birch is not a traditional hotel.
Our community cares more about what we do than how we look, which is why we prioritise function over form. We find beauty in imperfection, don’t swap out old for new just for the sake of our egos, and take pride in the occasional scratch or dent you see around the place. This helps us do more for our community. And for the environment.
Birch is NOT the traditional British countryside hotel that your parents visit.
The ones with white tablecloths, uptight service and expensive upholstery. Birch is a more accessible (both on price and location) escape from the hecticness of daily life. Example? Our bedrooms have one job: to help you rest (hence why they have big beds but no noisy TVs or boring desks ). When you’re not resting in your room, we want you out enjoying our mood-boosting sites and energy-giving sounds.
Birch is NOT an overly curated and lavish members club that your boss boasts about being at.
Our community cares more about what we do than how we look, which is why we prioritise function over form. We find beauty in imperfection, don’t swap out old for new just for the sake of our egos, and take pride in the occasional scratch or dent you see around the place. This helps us do more for our community. And for the environment.

Birch is NOT a boring co-working space full of soulless rooms with high-spec AV kit you can’t actually work.
We have plenty of cosy corners and creative tables for you to meet, PowerPoint or Zoom at. But we also have a bucketload of activities to get you refreshed, give you ideas, and grow new thoughts. Pottery, yoga, lawn volleyball, screen printing, gong healing, nature talks, outdoor walks… Whether you’re here to work, play, or work and play, our workshops and classes will help you switch off and find your groove.

What is Birch then?
Birch is the escape of a lifestyle hotel set in nature, the buzz of a members club, and the flexibility of a coworking space. Not to mention a spot for some seriously tasty food from some seriously talented chefs. Big breakfasts, barbies, light lunches, tasting menus, cocktails, garden feasts – you name it, we serve it. All of this set in acres and acres of green green grounds. We’re nature’s biggest fans. Spending time in it, and spending time looking after it.
Ready to swap the rat race for some headspace, and have the maximum amount of fun possible? Book a stay, book a table, book an event, or become a member. Do one, do all. Just don’t do none.

Birch (Cheshunt)
Our first child, big on festival vibes and fun. 55 acres, just 30 minutes north of London. There’s an on-site farm, which offers introductions to composting and foraging, as well as supplying produce for the two restaurants.
It’s a hotel, members club and co-working space but one that adds ceramics workshops in the pottery studio, sourdough-making lessons in the bakery, foraging and gong bath sessions to the usual line-up of cultural events.
Birch (Selsdon)
With a penchant for going wild in 200 acres, just 30 minutes south of London. the ‘sister’ hotel to the award-winning Birch (Cheshunt), is all about bringing like-minded people together and providing them with the space to reconnect – with themselves and each other.
It’s a welcome respite from the noise and intensity of London’s concrete jungle where members and guests can find headspace, try new things and have some (a lot of ) fun.
