Birch in collaboration with the NOW Gallery present an in conversation with Joy Yamusangie exploring the artists practice as well as an insight into NOW Gallery’s Young Artist Commission. Joy Yamusangie’s new exhibition ‘feeling good’ is a series of works created around the idea of a fictional jazz club and is a celebration of self-expression. The compositions are beautifully graphic and joyful, bold colours combine creating a vibrant series. Although these images act as self-portraiture and function as a distinct act of self-appreciation, at the core, they are an exploration of constructs of identity.
